105 years ago today, at 0610 on 25 Sep 1915, the whistles blew and Arthur Fredrick Whitrod along with his colleagues and friends from the 8th Bn Royal Fusiliers poured out of their trenches at the Battle of Loos. He survived but was lost on 7th July 1916 at Ovilliers during the Battle of the Somme. He has no known grave but his name is carved with pride on the Thiepval Memorial.

Never forgotten by his family. We will remember them.
